Review Topic: Other Experience

On November 1, 2006, I scheduled an online appointment to meet with the Washington DC CIS office on Prosperity Avenue. (Note: they don't allow you to stand in line unless it's 15 minutes from your scheduled appt. time). The waiting period once inside was about 20 minutes. The front counter personnel were very pleasant. The Immigration Officer printed out current status from the website (which I already had but appreciated the effort). He then explained once the I-129F is approved, the I-130 can be dropped and instructed to return to the CIS office to apply for I-485 AOS / EAD / SS #. He walked me to the front door and showed me where the forms are for applying for the I-485. Very courteous and helpful.

His supervisor (who had to sign off on the prints and info) was also very polite. I was out of there in 15 minutes. It wasn't at all busy, it was a nice calm environment and everyone was very helpful.

It may be a little different at busy times, but I can say on Tuesday mornings when they have just opened it is a decent place to go.
You can Metro to Huntingdon and then take a bus which will drop you off right outside the bui... read complete review
